If you enjoy the quiet beauty of a rural setting the UX Ranch is a convenient home base for exploring the entire Black Hills, Badlands, Lakota Country, Sturgis and Deadwood areas.

The Ranch has 2 ‘bunk houses’ that we rent to guests.

Big Bunk House
We recently have finished converting a building we had previously used as a barn and granary into a terrific 4 bedroom ‘Big Bunk House’. It has 4 queen beds in large 12 x 12 rooms, full kitchen with some cooking pans and utensils, drip coffee maker, microwave, dining room, living room with satellite DishTV, 2 bath rooms with 4 showers, washer dryer and a gas BBQ grill. There is an additional single bed in one of the bedrooms. There is plenty of space if your group needs additional tables in the hallway or if you need extra beds and would like to bring air mattresses. The décor is cowboy casual and rustic with all the modern conveniences. 3 night minimum stay required.

The Original Bunk House

Our original bunk house is also available and has 2 bedrooms with 2 twin beds in each room, a queen bed and a day bed. It also has a full kitchen with some cooking pans and utensils, drip coffee maker, microwave, small dining area in kitchen, living room with satellite DishTV, 2 full bathrooms and gas BBQ grill.  Casual cowboy decor. 3 night minimum stay required.

The 2 bunk houses have completely separate entrances, front and back doors and only share the common courtyard, patio grill areas and horse hitching posts. Groups enjoy these units for reunions or larger gatherings.

We are offering both these units at exceptionally affordable rates this year as we continue working on the native landscaping, porches and garden area. Both are very private and quiet. Please remember that you will be staying at a working cattle and horse ranch. It is a wonderful place to spend a week or more but it is not a ‘lodge’ or a ‘resort’. Come prepared to relax and have a great time visiting the area attractions and then come home to the ranch for a comfortable nights sleep.

Headquarters House
The third lodging option we have to offer is the original ranch headquarters house. The UX Ranch owners, John and Darlene Stovall still live in the house most of the year but during the summer rent it out to families or groups who need a little more room. The main floor has 2 bedrooms with queen beds, 1 bathroom with tub, full kitchen, microwave, drip coffee maker, dishwasher, wonderful rock fireplace, satellite TV. The completely finished basement has 2 more bedrooms with 2 single beds in one and a queen bed in the other, there are 2 full beds in the downstairs living room area (one in couch). There is 1 bathroom with a shower. Washer/dryer is also in the basement.

This house is big and comfortable.  It is family friendly with 2 big curved couches, wonderful country dining table for a large group, nice yard with mature cottonwood trees and patio area.

Linens are furnished in all three houses but we do ask that you bring your own towels. Pillows are on all the beds but if you sleep better with you own pillow, feel free to bring it.
This property requires a week minimum stay.

Rates:  Monthly rates available during winter season, please call for rates.

Rates  are all plus 5% sales tax.

A deposit by check or money order is due within 7 days of booking for 50% of the total price and  50% due at arrival. Usually a 3 night minimum but some 2 night possible between bookings. Due to our short peak season we must be firm on deposits, minimum stays and prices. We have a 3 month cancellation policy, please see FAQ.
