Take your horses camping with you!
Operated seasonally May-October each year, we at the UX Ranch
‘Welcome horse people to come and vacation with their horses’. We
offer horse camping and overnight stabling. You are free to ride
on the 1,300 acres around the ranch house or if you would like
more space, we can give you directions to the 20,000 acres of
forest service permit.

The UX Ranch is a short trailer
pull from the heart of the Black Hills, Custer State Park, the
Mickelson Trail, Wind Cave and Badlands trails. These areas offer
hundreds of miles of scenic riding on beautiful back country
trails.
The likes of ‘Wild Bill’ Hickok,
Calamity Jane and Wyatt Earp all roamed the Black Hills area and
this is your chance to experience a horseback riding adventure on
some of the same trails first used by the Lakota Sioux Indians,
then the cowboys, gold miners, outlaws and homesteaders.

- Or the Centennial Trail with one
of its trail heads in Wind Cave National Park

minutes east of ranch

We hope you will consider making the
UX Ranch your base camp. A place you come back to each evening to
refresh and reflect on the day’s good times. We will be on hand to
make your stay as enjoyable as possible. You can go out from here
each day to a new riding adventure or leave your horse here and go
for a day of tourist activities.
Back on the ranch, you have a
choice from several options:
Option 1:
One week (7 nights) includes corral for your horses, stall if
available or requested for night time, parking area for your
self-contained trailer with electric and water hookups.
Parking near your horses. No dump station. We only have 4 of these
spaces, so please call early.
RATE: $150.00 week per horse, 2 horses $300; 3 horses $450.
Option 2:
Accommodations for both horse and rider. This is for
those coming up with their own horses who do not have their own
living quarters trailer and need a place to stay. Stalls will come
with initial bedding and owners take care of their own horses. Fresh
water in corrals. We will feed and water your horse/s if needed, if
you are planning a long day outing to see area attractions. There is
no charge for this service. Make reservations for one of the Bunk
Houses and add $10 per night per horse. This will include your
lodging and corral or inside stall for your horse. Same minimum
stays required as in Bunk House information page.
Option 3:
Overnight Stabling: with your own living quarters, includes
overnight stabling for your horse based on availability. No
hook-ups.
RATE: $25 per night. No dump station. Please call ahead.
Deposit: We require a 50%
deposit with your reservation in order to hold the accommodations
for you. If using check or cash we will also need a credit card # to
use for a security/damage deposit.
Cancellation Policy: This
applies to RV hookup camping and Bunk house reservations. You will
receive a full refund if you cancel your reservation more that 30
days before your arrival date. If you cancel during the 30 days
before your arrival we will refund 90% of your deposit for the
nights that we can re-rent. (Bike week policy is different)
